Mayor’s Scholarship Jazz Brunch 2017

Photography by Vicky Pink - Mayor Sylvester Turner added a new skill to his resume of orchestra conductor at the Annual Mayor’s Scholarship Jazz Brunch. Using the infamous baton once used by the famous conductor Arturo Toscanini to conduct the NBC Symphony Orchestra, Mayor Turner lead the Jazz Education, Incorporated students. Many gathered to raise funds, listen to good music and celebrate the 27th year of the Houston International Jazz Festival and Jazz Education Incorporated. Music lovers, Jazz enthusiasts, and Houstonians will be treated to an exciting, music filled weekend. Some in attendance were Conrad Johnson, 1st Daughter Ashley Turner, City Council members Amanda Edwards, Dwight Boykins, Larry Green, and Jack Christie; Mario Diaz; State Reps. Ron Reynolds and Gene Wu; Cindy Clifford; Harris County Trustee Erica Lee Carter; Khambrel Marshall; Miya Shay; and Courtney White.
