Bail set at $1M for man, former pimp accused of killing mother of his child

Milwaukee, WI (WDJT ) -- The man accused of killing Noelani Robinson’s mother appeared in court Sunday.

Dariaz Higgins, 34, is accused of shooting and killing the mother of his child, 24-year-old Sierra Robinson.

He's charged with first-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon.

It allegedly happened Monday on 91st and Mill on the northwest side.

Robinson traveled from Las Vegas to pick up their daughter, 2-year-old Noelani.

According to the criminal complaint, he shot Robinson and her friend. "It's alleged that the defendant shot and killed a woman who is the victim as to count one, and then shot the victim as to count two multiple times, however, she was able to survive her injuries," said the prosecutor.

A nationwide AMBER Alert was issued for Noelani after the shooting. The toddler's body was found Friday night in a ditch in rural Minnesota. Authorities are trying to determine who is responsible for her death.

The court commissioner set Higgins' bail at $1-million cash.

If convicted, he faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 25.
