Become Enchanted with the Larger Than Life - Magical Winter Lights November 16th – January 6th

HOUSTON (Oct. 17, 2018)- The 2018 Magical Winter Lights (MWL) will return to light up the night and captivate guests this holiday season at Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque, TX from November 16, 2018, to January 6, 2019, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. This multicultural light festival covers 20 acres and encompasses more than six million lights, plus Chinese acrobats, carnival activities, themed lantern displays, and so much more.

Visitors of MWL have the opportunity to travel through whimsical flowers, illuminated tunnels, and stand beneath life-size dinosaurs, providing an experience unlike any event of its kind. It’s the largest lantern festival in the U.S. and takes event goers on an enchanting journey through each of its eight themed sections.

Artisans from Zigong, China, where lantern festivals originate, have worked meticulously to create and enhance the experience for visitors this 2018 season. Guests will remember the iconic castle entrance and the fan-favorite dinosaurs from the previous festival, but will be excited to see two brand new lantern exhibits, The Sea and The Ice! Plus, plenty of new lanterns within the exhibits of The Kingdom, The Village, The Dino, The East, The Globe, and Houston!

MWL not only provides a unique cultural experience but also memories that last a lifetime. There will be carnival rides, games, cultural performances from acrobats, Chinese drums, Chinese arts and crafts, plate spinning, and so much more, all included in admission.

“Magical Winter Lights intends to provide an enchanted experience of holiday winter lights unlike any other,” said Yusi An, founder and executive producer of the Magical Winter Lights. “We’re excited to share the vibrant culture, artistic structures, and fun that Magical Winter lights embodies."
