Celebrate Citizenship Month in November

Annual event celebrates city's diversity, promotes civic engagement

The public is invited to participate in Citizenship Month, Houston’s 10th annual celebration of “the many faces of Houston.” Observed every November, the celebration highlights the city’s rich cultural diversity and encourages “good citizenship” through active participation in civic and community affairs.

A month-long series of events is scheduled to take place at locations throughout the city, sponsored by Houston Public Library and community organizations. The events offer the public the opportunity to explore the many cultures that comprise Houston and learn about how to get involved in efforts that promote community inclusiveness, unity and pride.

Citizenship Month is an initiative of the Department of Neighborhoods Office of New Americans and Immigrant Communities. The annual celebration is organized under the guidance of the city's Citizenship Month Council.
