HPD Reminds Citizens to Sign Up for 911 Emergency Profile System

Houston Police Assistant Chief Henry Gaw and members of the Houston Fire Department, representatives from Greater Harris County 911 and the Mayor's Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security urge citizens to create their own "Emergency Profile."

The free service will allow citizens to provide valuable information to 9-1-1 call takers and first responders in advance of an emergency.

Citizens can add vital information to their Emergency Profile, such as their home and cell phone numbers and home address. The Emergency Profile can also include emergency contacts, special needs, such as hearing-impaired or wheelchair bound, medication information on household members and any other special medical conditions. Citizens can also provide details to first responders on how to access a residence, which will enable personnel to coordinate a quicker response.

Citizens can create and maintain their own profiles at https://da.911.org/Account/Terms.
