to Support Small Business

The City of Houston’s Office of Business Opportunity with Mayor Annise D. Parker, Carlecia D. Wright and Ellyn Josef launched the first annual “Small Business Legal Academy”, a collaborative effort to provide free legal workshops and one-on-one personal consultations on a wide range of legal and financial topics of concern to small business owners in partnership with the e Association of Pro Bono Counsel (APBCo), Vinson & Elkins, LLP, Texas C-Bar, and many other corporate law firms and community organizations. In addition, Mayor Parker announced Kauffman's FastTrac Program. The Office of Business Opportunity in partnership with the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA) and the Houston Technology Center will provide a capacity building program for new start-ups and existing businesses. The Small Business Legal Academy will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the South Texas College of Law and is free.
